Stylemaker

Stylemaker, an on-trend fashion fabrics retailer, needed two new logos and a clear visual direction.

Service

  • Logo + Brand Book

Industry

  • Apparel

Background

Stylemaker was expanding to include a physical maker space called Makers Hideaway, and they needed to create two brands that were still part of the same visual family.

We started with a full brand discovery to understand the customer and define the key attributes of the brand. This process identified the need for more sophistication, distinction, and relevance. The new Stylemaker logo is built with a custom typeface and strikes a balance between aspirational and relatable.

Makers Hideaway

Makers Hideaway is a retreat center for creatives of all sorts. With room for ten makers to eat, sleep, and create, it is the perfect escape to rest and renew creativity.

"Sewing can be an isolating hobby, so getting people to create together is meaningful."    - Michelle, owner

The logo treatment aims to feel modern but still homey, clean but authentic. The icon is inspired by the type of repeating thread patterns used by sewing machines, with an abstract nod to the house where the retreat space is located.
